| Sometimes, I Shouldn't Say Words |
[Mar. 17th, 2005|02:03 pm] |
I ran into an old friend from high school today while I had lunch at the Chick-Fil-A. She's very nice, and I've always liked her, so it was nice to run into her. However, there were two problems.
The first is just my normal social inadequacy; I am not good at talking with people I know well, much less people I used to know fairly well but have not seen in more than five years (my desire for a backspace key in real life is quite well-documented).
The second problem is that she has a twin sister, and they look very similar, and I was friends with both of them. In high school, I was familiar with each enough so that I could tell them apart with little effort. Today, however, was different.
We talked for a few moments, catching up on jobs and the like, and then she had to go for a moment. When she came back, I just blurted out, "I don't know how to say this without potentially pissing you off, but it's been so long since I saw you I can't tell if you're you or your sister."
We sat there for a moment, both equally confused I'm sure, until my jumble of words apparently sorted themselves out for her (or she just took a lucky guess at what the fuck I was talking about), and she said, "I'm Stephanie."
The rest of the conversation went as smoothly as can be expected, what with no backspace key and all. My life would be so much less awkward if I could revise. |

You're Egypt!
Curator of ancient mystical secrets, your life on the surface is fairly typical these days. Though you are in denial about more things than most people. Nevertheless, you're trying to convince people that you're safe despite your more volatile and unstable times that seem to be behind you. You like cats a whole lot. You'd probably really appreciate The Blue Pyramid. Take the Country Quiz at the Blue Pyramid

| Make Your iPod Useful |
[Feb. 2nd, 2005|11:58 am] |
In a wild and crazy development, I thought I might actually post in this thing every once in a while. Pictures of the DR shall be forthcoming.
But this... this is a revolutionary breakthrough. A program which lets you store over 900 mixed drink recipies on your iPod. Technology is such a wonderful thing. |

Sometimes, there comes a link so special, so cool, that I just really feel the need to post it here and appear on all seven (I think?) of my friends' friend pages. So -- here we go, this one is for the ladies who have befriended me:
Babes Against Bush -- because hot chicks hate him, too. |

I know I don't update this thing. I know you're staring at your friends page, wondering, What the fucking hell is HJ doing?
I just think that this article by The Ferrett should be necessary reading. So I'm posting a link to it here.
Go read it, holmes. |

This is more of a keeping-track-of-Live-Journal-friends'-journals thing than a true blog. If you want to read my real blog, it's here: VR232 Productions.
Word Life, or something. |
